Construction-materials e-commerce

June 2026 – Present

A construction-materials marketplace connecting professionals with suppliers, plus delivery-route optimisation. Four independent services: storefront, API, operations dashboard and routing microservice.

Public storefront: the buyer picks their area and sees price and stock from the suppliers that reach it
  • Building a route: pick the orders that are ready and the self-hosted ORS returns them already sequenced
  • The driver's view: stop by stop, with call, navigate, skip and mark as delivered

The problem

Buying materials means calling supplier after supplier to compare price and availability, and deliveries get planned by eye, with no route optimisation.

Features

  • The full buying flow: catalogue, cart, checkout, order and delivery
  • Delivery-route optimisation: geocoding, TSP sequencing and ETA, on a self-hosted OpenRouteService in Docker, with OSRM as fallback
  • PIN delivery: every order carries a 4-digit code only the buyer sees, as proof of delivery

My responsibility

A company project, built as a team: I own the whole frontend — the public Next.js storefront and the operations dashboard, including the delivery feature on Leaflet. A teammate builds the backend.
