EDIT
October 2026
An open-source web video editor where several AI agents edit in parallel while you watch, correct and approve live. Each agent takes a workspace — a reel, a YouTube video, anything — and edits a JSON document the web renders instantly with Remotion. Only what you approve gets exported.
The editor with the 3D EDIT outro on the graphics track An animated Sillar intro, made by an agent, in the editor
The problem
Editing video with AI had two bad options: have the agent drive a regular editor, slow and tab-heavy, or let it edit blind and only find out it looks wrong after exporting. There was nowhere to watch what the agent was doing while it did it.
Features
- Several agents editing at once, each in its own workspace, while you watch everything live
- Instant preview with Remotion Player: every agent change shows up immediately, no rendering
- Multi-track timeline: video, captions, SFX, music, zooms, titles and motion graphics
- A motion graphics library the agents can use, including 3D animations in Three.js
- Chat with the agent, comments pinned to a second, and like / dislike per block
- Every change is a version: a change feed with undo and a jump back to any version
- Templates with format, framing, caption style, audio and natural-language rules
- Connects over MCP, so it works with any agent; tested with Claude Code
- Only what you approve gets exported, through a render queue on the server
My responsibility
All of it: the edit document model, the server with its API, SSE and an MCP endpoint so any agent can connect, the Remotion composition shared by the player and the renderer, the web app with the workspace grid, multi-track timeline and chat, and a motion graphics library — outros, intros, transitions and callouts for Sillar, plus a 3D EDIT intro and outro in Three.js — built by coordinating several agents in parallel.
Stack
- Frontend

- Backend
- Node.js + Express, SQLite (node:sqlite) for workspaces and versions, SSE for live updates, an MCP server for the agents and @remotion/renderer for the export queue
